Shirley B's Corner

For a long time now, I have been encouraged to do a spot called “Shirley’s Swirlys”, well due to recent attacks on our Elected Republican officials, I decided maybe it’s time.

First of all, let me tell you what a “Shirley’s Swirly” is --- my definition, not the old one.

“Shirley’s Swirly”  (Noun)  “An action, with use of water, swirling bad thinking down a drain, applied to a  person, idealogy or organization who needs their “stinkin’  “thinkin’ adjusted.  No physical harm to human or animal is actually done in carrying out a“Shirley’s Swirly.”

Today’s candidate for a “Shirley’s Swirly”:  RMGO’s Ian Escalante

        Today’s “Shirley’s Swirly” goes to Rocky Mountain Gun Owners’ Ian Escalante for targeting Senate District #7, Senator Janice Rich, one of the most prominent pro-gun legislators we have fighting for not only our 2^nd amendment rights but against predators of our children.

     Senator Rich has also fought hard against the many mandated laws that push transgender-ism ideology and destroy parental rights in our schools.  These mandated laws, passed by the Democrat or “majority” party affecting our schools, number 14 with more introduced this year. Senator Rich has voted NO on all.

    The gun laws? 36 total with 22 of them being passed in just the past 2 years! Senator Rich has voted NO on all of them too.  (Don’t believe me, look it up yourself.)  Mr Escalante jumped to conclusions about SB26-1108 bill recently introduced in the house, which had 2 Republicans and 2 Democrats sponsoring it.  It is a companion bill to SB25-146 that passed last year concerning fingerprinting of those in professional fields who have committed crimes (Passed Unanimously in Senate; 59 to 3 in the House)

It was Ian that labeled SB26-1108 wrongly, saying it was another gun law, when, in fact it was not.  The bill that he is complaining about actually has to do with tracking people who already committed a crime “in another state” then move here. (Such as a teacher preying on children or other professionals committing crimes against the vulnerable.) I don’t believe Ian would be against that would he?

     Many people are finger printed in their profession as well.  So without contacting Senator Rich or Representative Hartsook or the 2 Democrat about SB26-1108,  he reacted on impulse and sent emails and texts out to all the members of RMGO calling “for someone to run against Senator Rich” and posted a photo of Rich with Governor Polis asking people “to call her and demand an apology for the bill and to withdraw it.”

      If Mr Escalante is a true conservative and not a Democrat, he should not be calling to unseat a REPUBLICAN who is pro 2^nd amendment and does all she can to stop these horrific laws.

    In case you don’t know, Republicans are out numbered in the House (43 Democrats to 22 Republicans)  and Senate (23 Democrats to 12 Republicans)  in Colorado.  RMGO and others need to focus on keeping Republicans in office and focus on finding good Republican candidates to run for the offices held by Democrats like Sen Tom Sullivan and Julie Gonzales, who have their names as sponsors of so many of the gun bills.  (In fact 4 more gun laws have been already introduced this year.)  Please focus on the DEMOCRATS, NOT Republicans RMGO.

I know Mr Escalante probably thinks he is doing right but this tactic stinks and therefore, I believe his Thinkin’ has become Stinkin’ and a “Shirley Swirly” is needed to adjust his Stinkin’ Thinkin.”  As a result, I hope he will learn to talk to someone FIRST before jumping to conclusions about what their intentions are.   

Maybe RMGO could learn something that my Pastor preaches all the time, (which is not easy for sure.) “Keep every thought captive and only use language to build someone up and not tear them down.”  (Especially if they are fighting for the same things you are!)
